What is Reiki or Energy Healing?

Reik stands for Universal (Rei) and Life Force (Ki), so Reiki refers to the infinite universal life force or energy that flows through every living and non-living entity.

As mentioned on the home page, Reiki is a form of energy healing that utilizes the natural abundance of Ki, or life-force, to bring the client to a deep state of relaxation and healing.

To be clear, Reiki is not a substitute for traditional medicine nor is it meant to be a practice that would replace any form of traditional medicine. Reiki is, however, still extremely powerful and is far more familiar to everyone than one may think.

Consider this, what is the first thing one does when one sprains an ankle or dings their arm? What is the first instinct a mother does to a hurt child or the natural form of a full embrace? We all use the power of Ki (or Prana, or Chi, or Qi) to comfort others and we transmit this healing energy via our touch.

Reiki

Reiki interacts with the subtle energy body of an individual. As a reiki master, I tap into this Ki and direct it into your body (both the energy body and the physical body) through direct or indirect touch. You will be able to feel this transmission of energy as my hands grow increasingly hotter throughout the session, noticeably hotter than just a normal touch. The energy works through your body along the paths of least resistance, your nervous system, until blockages are identified. Just as in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) illness is believed within a Reiki sense, to be caused by energy blockages within the body.

Being humble and listening to your body after a session of Reiki, the client may experience a wide array of effects of this abundance of energy. Reiki is completely harmless to both the client and the master, so no need to worry, but the client is always reminded to take note of any results they may notice from the treatments. Clients are advised to relax and have a restful conclusion to the day post session and to consume healthy, cleansing foods, drink plenty of pure water and rest well.
